20 Random Dieting Tips

By Jared DiCarmine On April 4, 2012 Under Nutrition For Fat Loss

Here is an entire list of the first 28 random dieting tips that just pop into my head. There is some method to this madness, but every single one should be followed in some way, shape or form. Don’t worry, they’re easy to follow and more like “life-style” rules if anything else.

Eat More Protein:

Protein is king when it comes to the macro-nutrients. It has a 20-30% thermic effect when ingested and helps to keep you full and satiated for long periods of time. Much more so than carbs or fats..

Eat Less Starchy Carbs:

Carbs are earned, not given. If you don’t need them, don’t eat them. That’s how you gain weight.

Eat More Veggies:

This one sounds pretty simple right? But how many veggies are you really eating? They’ll help to keep you full, balance out the PH in your body especially if you’re eating a lot of protein and yea, great for all that health stuff too :-)

If you hate veggies, you CAN supplement with green’s powders. They do help.

Avoid Wheat:

There is more and more evidence of people coming out with intolerance to all things wheat and grains. Try it for yourself and take out all the wheat in your diet for the next 30 days and see how you feel. You might be surprised.

Cook Your Eggs Different Ways:

By preparing your eggs different ways throughout the week, you’ll avoid developing a slight allergic intolerance to this tasty food item.

Eat Organic:

This one tip especially goes for organic fatty meats. The fatty acid ratio is so much better when the animal is actually fed what it’s suppsoed to be fed like GRASS and not genetically modified CORN. Yuck.

Get Wild Caught Fish:

There was a study done in 2004 and published in Science that found farm raised salmon contained over 7 times the recommended amount of PCB’s. This stands for polychlorinated biphenyls and cause cancer. Whenever possible, buy wild caught fish.

Up Your Fiber Intake:

This can be from veggies, steel cut oats (if you can tolerate them), and some fruits. Just do it. It’s good for you and easy to do.

Chew Your Food:

By chewing your food thoroughly, it’ll improve digestion and make it easier on your body to assimilate everything.

My Favorite Carb Sources:

Potatoes (doesn’t matter which kind) white rice, qunioa (sometimes) buckwheat, and some fruit.

My Favorite Fat Sources:

Almond butter, butter from organic grass fed cattle, walnuts, olive oil, macadamia nuts, fish oil.

Drink A Lot Of Water:

This is a no-brainer, but still many people do not do this, which can be halting fat loss dead in it’s tracks.

No More Sugar:

Read the book Sugar Blues. It’ll scare you straight about the effects sugar has on our bodies.

Fast Every Once In A While:

This will teach you what REAL hunger feels like. Plus it’ll give your body a break from digestion.

Avoid Gluten:

Enough said there.

Limit Alcohol Intake:

If you’re trying to lose weight, alcohol, metabolically does not convert well into body fat. It’s all the crap  you eat while drinking that does. I myself am guilty of this so just watch out.

Get Your Fish Oil’s In:

If there is one supplement that everyone should take, it’s fish oils. Especially with the crazy ratio of the typical diet now-a-days of omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acids. That’s why heart disease is so high. Grab your’s here.

Add Some Cinnamon To Your Meals:

This will help to increase insulin sensitivity and lower blood sugar levels.

Don’t Eat The Same Things Everyday:

This will help prevent intolerance’s and increase the amount of nutrients you get in your diet.

Enjoy Life:

You only live once so don’t worry if you fall off your diet or you have a piece of dessert. Live a little…it’s okay. I give you permission!

Okay, that’s it for now. Let me know what you think below!
