Best Breakfast For Weight Loss
So what is the best breakfast for weight loss?
We’ll get into that in a second.
Now they always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it truly is. But most often a lot of people and maybe including yourself aren’t sure what the best breakfast with regards to weight loss. It can be confusing for some especially if you are following some sort of fad diet or you just don’t like breakfast but know you must eat because it’s good for you.
Well don’t worry because breakfast and weight loss do not have to be death sentences. The two can work interchanably and are very easy to deal with.
When it comes to picking a good breakfast and weight loss, you must be creative. Get it out of your mind that breakfast is just cereal or eggs, because it’s not.
Another good thing you can do is get it out of your mind that you only can eat certain things at breakfast, certain foods at lunch and certain foods at dinner. This is not true at all. Look at eating without a name and all its doing is providing your body the proper nourishment to get through the day.
So what I want to give you today is 5 different breakfast ideas that you can use interchangeable throughout the week to prevent boredom and to keep you satisfied and healthy. This ensures dietary compliance, therefore increasing your chances of reaching your end goals!
Breakfast #1: An easy and quick breakfast meal that is really healthy for you and perfect for weight loss is to make a shake in the morning. And no I’m not talking about one of those already made shakes that you can get at the pharmacy or in your local supermarket. Those things are garbage. They contain huge amounts of sugar and fake stuff. Definitely not good for your weight loss goals.
What I want you to do is make your own shake in the morning before you head off to work or wherever that may be. It’s quite easy. First you need to pick up some protein powder. I recommend you get some type of whey protein powder which can be bought anywhere really. Just do a Google search, pick one and buy it. Whey protein comes in all different flavors too.
Add one scoop into your blender; add ice, and then whatever other ingredients you like. My personal favorite is to add vanilla protein powder, ice, 2 cups of coconut milk for healthy fat, blueberries and strawberries. It’s a perfect breakfast because it’s high in protein, healthy fat, and fiber.
Breakfast #2: Non fat Greek yogurt with fruit and granola. Greek yogurt is a great super food because it’s high in protein, low in carbs provided you get thee one without the fake fruit, and high in live active bacteria which are great for your digestive system. In fact, it’s recommended that you eat yogurt if you’re on antibiotics since they kill all the good bacteria in your gut. Yogurt helps to replenish these.
Anyways, this breakfast is light and quick providing you with fiber, protein and healthy, slow digesting carbohydrates. It’s perfect for on the go. I love it and even eat this as a snack sometimes. It tastes good and it’s all healthy. Perfect for weight loss.
Breakfast #3: 4 Whole egg omelets with veggies. You might be thinking that eating the whole egg is bad for you, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The egg yolk is where all the vitamins and minerals are. It’s perfect for you and won’t raise your cholesterol levels. Cholesterol is 80% genetics anyway. Now with regards to the veggies, add in as many as you want.
I don’t care what you add in either. Spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and peppers are all great and make a great tasting omelet when combined. This breakfast is perfect because it’s low in carbohydrates, high in protein, and high in healthy fat provided you get the eggs that are organic and high in fiber from all the vegetables.
Breakfast #4: I call this breakfast a big helping of Mexican goodness. What you’re going to do is pick up some low carbohydrate tortillas. These are awesome because they are high in fiber and low in net grams of carbohydrates. You’re going to cook up some omega 3 enriched eggs. I don’t care how many you cook up. I personally always eat 4 at a time. Warm up the tortilla, put it on a plate and add your eggs on top.
Then chop up some onions, tomatoes, fresh cilantro, and some jalapenos if you like it hot. Toss it all together with a squirt of lime and add it on top of your eggs. Add it all together and you have a nice Mexican breakfast, healthy and nutritious. It’s high in fiber form the tortilla and fresh veggies, high in protein and healthy fats while being low in carbohydrates. A perfect breakfast for weight loss.
Breakfast #5: A cup of steel cut oats with added protein powder and flax seeds. This is again an easy to make and surprisingly tasty quick breakfast. Just cook up some steel cut oats via the microwave or boiling hot water. Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder into the bowl and 2 tablespoons of flax seeds.
The flax seeds are great because they add extra fiber and contain omega 3 fatty acids. This breakfast is higher in carbohydrates, but some people do better with carbs than others. You can also add a tablespoon of cinnamon into the mix as well as it’s been shown to increase insulin sensitivity in people. This is what you want if you’re trying to lose weight. You want to be as insulin sensitive as possible.
All in all, there is no such thing as the best breakfast for weight loss. You need to go accordingly to your goals and what you like to eat. These are 5 different choices above that should tickle anybody’s fancy.
